Prepare to become a Basic Life Support instructor by delving into the principles of adult education. Explore effective teaching practices like classroom management, knowledge promotion, and skill transfer and retention. Within six months of successful completion of this course and prior to receiving instructor status, you must complete your monitoring of a full Basic Life Support provider course monitored by an Instructor Trainer or Experienced Instructor.
With the knowledge gained in this course, you will have the skills to educate healthcare providers and first responders on the concepts of Basic Life Support.
CPRS 100 Current Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada – Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider card and CPRS140 Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada – Core Instructor Course. Failure to provide proof of both prerequisites one week prior to the course will result in an automatic withdraw of CPRS155.
If you have previously completed the Core Instructor Course, you will not be required to attend CPRS140 again; however, you must submit your certificate of completion to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Heart & Stroke: Basic Life Support - Instructor Kit 2015 Guidelines is required for the Basic Life Support Instructor course. If you do not have this kit, it can be purchased through Shop@NAIT.
