Course Overview

A key component of Occupational Health and Safety is inspections. A Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) is expected to participate in workplace inspections: the observations made at a workplace that identify and record the current state of hazards at a work area. This proactive method assesses risk in a workplace by managing hazards before they become incidents as a result of unsafe working conditions. Inspections also provide an opportunity to review the effectiveness of existing hazard controls. All areas of an organization should have an inspection completed based on hazard assessment information. This course is intended to enhance your connection between theory and industry practice.

With the skills gained in this course, you will be able to conduct a thorough inspection of a workplace.

It is recommended that you work in safety and/or have access to the expertise of a safety professional before enrolling in this course.

It is required that you complete CRST101 and CRST102 before enrolling in this course.
