Course Overview

Discover the areas of health, wellness, and ergonomics as they relate to the role of an Occupational Health and Safety Technician. Delve into the components of a health and wellness program, how they impact a worker, and how they are managed. This course also examines the field of ergonomics in relation to regulatory requirements, work-task layout and design, and musculoskeletal injuries. With the knowledge gained in this course, you will be able to discuss health and wellness programs, and ergonomics as they relate to Occupational Health and Safety. It is recommended that you work in safety and/or have access to the expertise of a safety professional before enrolling in this course. This course is intended to enhance your connection between theory and industry practice. It is required that you complete CRST102 before enrolling in this course.

  • Remote On-Demand Delivery: Where: Online anytime. When: No set class meetings. Coursework is accessed on-demand and online. While there are no set class meetings, there may be set due dates and deadlines for some activities. Students may interact with peers through virtual tools.
  • Remote Independent: Where: Online anytime. When: No set class meetings. Coursework is accessed on-demand and online, with no instructor support. While students choose when to do coursework, there may be set due dates and deadlines. 
  • Work Placement: Where: In-person meetings. When: Work is scheduled at a specific time for students to attend. Onsite work integrated learning. Location at a worksite.
