Course Overview
NAIT’s Introductory Law for Paramedicine course provides foundational knowledge about legislation and the medico-legal aspects that pertain specifically to the emergency medical services professions in Alberta. Review statutes and regulations that govern the paramedicine profession and identify the requirements of securing consent, documenting patient treatment, protecting confidential information and mandatory reporting.
With the skills gained in this course, you will be able to describe the ACP registration and practice permit requirements, protected title provisions (EMR, PCP, and ACP), Code of Ethics, and Standards of Practice.
