Course Overview

As an energy process operator, you should be able to identify risks and determine the required materials, equipment, and processes required to produce a quality product from the wellbore to point of sale. You will gain the knowledge to work within the upstream oil and gas industry using industry recommended safety practices. This course provides an extensive overview of the oil and gas industry tailored for a process operator. Major topics covered include the role of the process operator, petroleum exploration, drilling, downhole operations, flow measurement, oil and gas facility design and production, process control, safety and natural gas processing. Skills obtained from this course will allow you to explain equipment and operation processes for pipeline and surface facilities and describe how to troubleshoot equipment issues to optimize processes using current and emerging technologies.
