Course Overview

Learn how drilling equipment operators install anchors and micropiles by following systematic operating procedures. Identify types of anchor and micropile drill rigs, and related equipment, systems, and controls, and describe their function, basic maintenance routines, and safety strategies. Examine manufacturer instructions and ways to apply safe work plans to ensure the transportation and operation of drilling equipment according to safety legislation, policies, and best practices. Knowledge gained in this course will enable you to record and report equipment issues, conduct basic maintenance procedures, and identify and troubleshoot equipment faults and failures. Study the interpreting of soil reports and evaluating of ground and water conditions to determine the best method of anchor and micropile installation.
