Course Overview
Explore the Canadian standards for the safe use of radiation as a Medical Radiological Technologist. Determine the biological implications of using ionizing radiation and how to protect themselves, patients and co-workers through the safe application of ionizing radiation. Describe protective practices and monitoring of radiation exposure dose. Apply the ALARA principle to cases where the patient, yourself or others are or may be pregnant.
This course is for those who want to increase their professional development and are currently working as a Medical Radiological Technologist. The skills obtained in this course will instill confidence to respond to patient inquiries about the risks of having x-ray procedures performed.
