Course Overview

Materials and Processes (M&P) is an introduction to materials and material fabrication. NDT often involves detecting manufacturing defects and service induced damage, which is easier to identify when you know how they occur. Identify engineering materials, material processes, codes and standards typically used in the NDE industry. Describe mechanical testing, heat treatment, welding metallurgy, casting and forging principals. With the skills gained in this course, you will be able to identify the materials and processes involved in inspection. This course includes the Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) Non Destructive Testing Certification Board (NDTCB) Materials and Processes (M&P) examination.
