Course Overview
After the first trimester of pregnancy, it becomes important to continue monitoring fetal development, assessing maternal health, and identifying potential complications. Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) for obstetrics in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters involves the use of ultrasound imaging during the later stages of pregnancy, typically beyond the first trimester. With the knowledge and skills gained in this course, you will be able to identify the principles and techniques for bedside ultrasound imaging of second and third-trimester pregnancy, differentiate between normal and pathological findings, and apply them to perform a limited bedside sonogram of second and third-trimester pregnancies. Upon successful completion of the competency assessment, you will earn a NAIT Microcredential and receive a Digital Badge you can share on social media and with your network.
