Course Overview

This course introduces the foundational skills, tools, and safety practices required for entry into the plumbing trade. Plumbing is a high-demand field that offers strong career opportunities. Learners will explore the theory and practical application of installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The course covers material handling, code compliance, fixture installation, and safe use of hand and power tools. With the skills gained in this course, you will be able to assemble plumbing systems that meet basic code, safety, and installation standards. Students require the following materials and personal protective equipment (PPE): CSA approved steel-toed footwear, CSA approved clear safety glasses, cotton clothing with long sleeves, leather gloves, tape measure (both metric and imperial), calculator, pen, pencil, paper, highlighter, and ruler.
