Course Overview

Plumbing services are always in high demand, and journeyman plumbers receive high financial compensation for their work. Gain hands-on training using ABS and PVC piping, copper, steel, and PEX. Explore how to solder, flare, braze, and thread. Students will become familiarized with the proper installation of bathroom and kitchen fixtures.

Gain a solid understanding of plumbing codes, hand and power tools, job safety, and rigging. Explore theory and practice on how to install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and plumbing equipment used in residential, commercial, and industrial building applications.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will have obtained the skills preparing them for an apprenticeship in the plumbing trade and will receive a wallet card certificate.

Students require the following personal protective equipment (PPE’s):
- CSA approved steel-toed footwear
- CSA approved clear safety glasses
- Cotton clothing, long sleeves
- leather gloves
- Tape measure both metric and imperial
- Calculator, pen, pencil, paper, highlighter, ruler

  • Remote Independent: Where: Online anytime. When: No set class meetings. Coursework is accessed on-demand and online, with no instructor support. While students choose when to do coursework, there may be set due dates and deadlines. 
  • Work Placement: Where: In-person meetings. When: Work is scheduled at a specific time for students to attend. Onsite work integrated learning. Location at a worksite.
