Course Overview
Refrigeration and HVAC mechanics are responsible for assembling, installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing equipment for refrigeration, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. The skills obtained in this course will prepare students for entry level refrigeration and HVAC positions where they can begin to apprentice.
This comprehensive course covers tools and instruments, ladders, scaffolds and lifts, soldering and brazing, and refrigerant and oil handling. Learn about refrigeration principles and the vapour compression cycle. Gain an introductory knowledge of valve design and functions as well as the principles and practices of workplace safety, including an introduction to electrical and meter safety.
Acquire the knowledge and fundamental skills to prepare for a career in the refrigeration and HVAC industry. A wallet card certificate will be issued to successful candidates.
Course includes 60 hours of instruction and 120 hours of online learning.
