Course Overview

Continue your investigation into the ever-evolving world of visual media. Upon successful completion of this advanced course, you will be able to create graphic design print composition and a vector print label.

Visual design improves the look and feel of a site and its related components by strategically implementing images, colours, fonts, and other elements. Graduates of this course will be able to describe modern trends and techniques used to develop and complete leading-edge visual designs. You will be able to convert a raster image to a vector, execute a badge, and identify strategies in design. You will also be able to measure and align space, apply typography strategies, and complete a corporate print advertisement with raster and vector graphics.

Prior to enrolling in this course, it is recommended that you complete CCTD216 Visual Design Level I, CCTD170 Typography, and CCTD115 Adobe Illustrator Level I, or have equivalent skills.

  • Remote On-Demand Delivery: Where: Online anytime. When: No set class meetings. Coursework is accessed on-demand and online. While there are no set class meetings, there may be set due dates and deadlines for some activities. Students may interact with peers through virtual tools.
  • Remote Independent: Where: Online anytime. When: No set class meetings. Coursework is accessed on-demand and online, with no instructor support. While students choose when to do coursework, there may be set due dates and deadlines. 
  • Work Placement: Where: In-person meetings. When: Work is scheduled at a specific time for students to attend. Onsite work integrated learning. Location at a worksite.
