Course Overview
Every year, dozens of Albertans are killed and thousands are injured on the job. A strong occupational health and safety culture is essential in preventing injuries, illnesses, and deaths on the job. You have a critical role in creating and maintaining a culture of safety in your work environment. Alberta's new Bill 30, an Act to protect the health and well-being of working Albertans, came into effect on June 1, 2018, and is the first significant update in over 40 years. The legislative changes affect Occupational Health and Safety everywhere in Alberta. Upon successful completion of this orientation course, you will be able to describe your (the worker's) role and obligations under Alberta’s Occupational Health and Safety Act.
