Course Overview

Build your practical knowledge of power engineering topics related to industrial plants and heavy industry, including heating plants, pulp and paper operations, and oil industry operations. Explore boilers, turbines, internal combustion engines, electricity, refrigeration, and heating and ventilation systems. Take this course if you have completed your Fourth Class Part A theory course and you are ready to continue your education.

With the knowledge that you gain in this course, you will be able prepared for the Provincial Part B exam.

Registrations accepted until January 6, 2020. No classes February 18, 20, 2020. Textbooks must be purchased for this course. Students MUST attend a minimum of 80% of their classes in order to receive a Letter of Completion. Upon successful completion of this course, students may apply to the Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA) for the Power Engineering 4th Class Part B provincial exam.
