The Construction Estimating and Administrative Controls (CEAC) certificate is a rebuild of the Construction Technology certificate, which has a long history of providing professional development and re-training for the Alberta construction industry. To update this certificate, we engaged industry partners, associations and subject-matter experts to develop courses that focus on the needs of industry today and into the future.

CEAC offers 3 industry-specific certificate options, each focused on providing a solid understanding of the fundamentals of construction, including estimating, project management and administrative control functions.

These courses are useful for all levels of construction employees, from entry level workers to junior and intermediate project management supervisors. This certificate will be of particular interest to project managers, superintendents, estimators and owners of construction companies.

What to Expect

The Construction Estimating and Administrative Controls certificate offers the full spectrum of courses to build your knowledge and abilities to participate in both the estimating and management of construction projects. As these 2 primary areas are linked throughout the full life-cycle of any given project, it is important to understand both aspects.

Each CEAC course includes 2 sessions per week: one face-to-face session in a classroom, and the other online in an on-demand format.

Online classes will be held two evenings after the face-to-face classes. Students are not required to log into the online course during the time noted in each course section; however, an instructor will be available during the listed online hours for support.

It is recommended that students register for courses at least one (1) week prior to the start date; however, registrations are accepted until one day prior to the start of class.

Career Opportunities

In today’s job market, there is a high demand for qualified construction managers, estimators and technologists. Graduates will find courses in this program to be directly applicable to their construction career. Having a Construction Estimating and Administrative Controls certificate in your toolbox will widen your career choices and overall employability.
