Experience hands-on training with the operation of machine shop equipment, including drill press, lathe and milling machines. If you are considering a career as a machinist, want to develop professionally or want to gain manual machining skills for your hobby projects, these courses will provide you with a range of opportunities to improve your theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical skills.

Our program will provide you with expert instruction, tools and equipment in our fully outfitted Sandvik Coromant Centre for Machining.

Upon successful completion of the 4 courses in this certificate program, you will have developed skills and obtained knowledge of manual machining, using tools like drill, lathe and mill-drill. You will be able to use these competencies to increase your value at work or in your own machine shop on your own projects.
A NAIT Machine Shop Certificate will be issued upon successful completion of MACH101, MACH105, MACH110 and MACH115.

NAIT Machine Shop courses (MACH101 and MACH105) are prerequisites for the Gunsmithing Courses.

Our program will help you find additional avenues into the machinist trade, including opportunities at machine shops. You may also gain skills and expertise that allow you to branch out into other areas, such as quality control and tool-and-die.
