Polytechnic grows with opening of Mawji Centre for student entrepreneurship; construction of Productivity and Innovation Centre

EDMONTON – Back-to-school will mean new facilities and offerings for NAIT students this year, including a new centre to foster student entrepreneurship and a new Business Administration diploma in entrepreneurship and innovation.

As the polytechnic welcomes more than 25,000 credit and apprenticeship students back to class, NAIT continues to grow. Construction of the new Productivity and Innovation Centre will be completed in 2018. The Centre for Applied Technology, which opened last year on Main Campus, and NAIT’s Spruce Grove Campus for Crane and Hoisting programs, are among the newest facilities for students.

This year also marks the opening of the Mawji Centre for New Venture and Student Entrepreneurship in NAIT’s JR Shaw School of Business. The centre will be a hub for learning and mentorship about business innovation and new ventures. The school is also launching a new, two-year Business Administration diploma in entrepreneurship and innovation to help students start and grow their own businesses.
