Medical laboratory assistants are the "face of the lab," working in public and private healthcare settings alongside technologists, physicians and patients.
Through NAIT’s Medical Laboratory Assisting program, you'll gain hands-on experience in specimen collection, lab procedures, ECGs, phlebotomy, urinalysis, data entry and reception services. Your training culminates with a seven-week clinical placement at one of our partner labs. As a graduate, you can work in both private and public laboratories. This program will help you develop the skills needed to thrive in this growing healthcare profession.

At NAIT, we honour and acknowledge that the land on which we learn, work and live is Treaty Six territory. We seek to learn from history and the lessons that have come before us, and to draw on the wisdom of the First Peoples in Canada. Only through learning can we move forward in truth and reconciliation, and to a better future together. Read more
