Course Overview

Problem solving and analytical thinking are foundational skills that involve breaking things down into their component parts. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to apply analytical reasoning and innovative problem-solving techniques to create customized solutions to work situations.

Problem solving and analytical thinking enable a business or process analyst and project manager to effectively analyze problems and opportunities, identify solutions that align with needs and desired outcomes, and communicate the impact of resultant changes. As a graduate of this course, you will be able to apply deductive reasoning, drawing conclusions from given facts and applying judgments to reach conclusions through a combination of evidence and assumptions. You will also be able to apply fundamental thinking processes to successfully analyze and solve a variety of business problems.

  • Remote Live Delivery: Where: Online with instructor. When: Course is scheduled at a specific time for students to attend. Instruction is delivered at set times online. Students do not come to campus.
  • Remote On-Demand Delivery: Where: Online anytime. When: No set class meetings. Coursework is accessed on-demand and online. While there are no set class meetings, there may be set due dates and deadlines for some activities. Students may interact with peers through virtual tools.
  • Remote Independent: Where: Online anytime. When: No set class meetings. Coursework is accessed on-demand and online, with no instructor support. While students choose when to do coursework, there may be set due dates and deadlines. 
  • Work Placement: Where: In-person meetings. When: Work is scheduled at a specific time for students to attend. Onsite work integrated learning. Location at a worksite.
