Course Overview
A large part of the project manager’s role is to administer a project budget and plan for potential financial risks. Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to develop a project budget and monitor its performance using earned value calculations
Project cost control is a key performance indicator for project success and managing all aspects of costs is an essential skill to keep projects on budget. The skills obtained in this course will allow you to monitor and control costs processes including the planning, estimating, budgeting, financing, and funding of projects. Upon successful completion of this course you will have the skills needed to avoid cost over-runs, which are a frequent killer of projects, and be able to apply course concepts to determine the processes required to complete projects within an approved budget. The resources needed to build your skills in resource planning, cost estimating, cost budgeting, accomplishment monitoring, earned value analysis, cost control, depreciation methods, and capital budgeting will also be provided.
As a project manager this course will also provide you the competencies to recognize and manage labour rates, overhead rates, capital investment concepts, contingency funds/ management reserve, and purchasing / procurement to ensure your project is completed on budget.
