Industry Engagement

At NAIT’s School of Construction and Building Sciences, we are committed to creating strong connections between our students, industry partners, and the ever-evolving construction sector in Alberta.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between education and industry by providing hands-on learning experiences and innovative solutions to meet the demands of the construction industry’s apprentice and technologists needs. Our industry connections also provide students with invaluable opportunities including co-op placements, collaborative projects and access to scholarships and endowments. Explore our initiatives, partnership opportunities, and success stories to see how we are driving the future of construction together.

Industry Consultation

Each year, our programs are reviewed by members of our program advisory councils (PACs) to ensure students are learning everything they need to be successful in the workforce. Topics discussed include program curriculum and desired outcomes, new industry innovations and challenges and program needs such as equipment, work-integrated learning participants and field trip opportunities.

The education we provide includes training with industry-standard tools and equipment, field trips and labs that provide hands-on learning, and work-integrated learning experiences that puts student learning to the test.

Hiring Our Students

Many of our programs include the option for students to apply professional skills and theoretical understanding in a workplace setting through work-integrated learning experiences. In turn, you get well-trained employees for a designated period of time with the potential to bring them back after graduation. It is a great way to provide students work-related opportunities while also seeing what they can offer your company.
