Where it Can Take You
Graduates of Engineering Design and Drafting Technology may find employment with consulting engineering firms, manufacturing and fabrication companies, government engineering departments or other design drafting agencies.
Initial employment usually starts with junior drafting or design-drafting positions. The employee will then be monitored and supervised by senior designers and engineers. The level of responsibility typically increases over time and as performance improves. Graduates may ultimately move on to intermediate and senior design-drafter positions. Some may become supervisors and managers in design-drafting departments or offices, while others may operate their own design-drafting companies.
