About the Program
This program provides a theoretical and practical education for a career as an engineering designer. Students develop a strong physics and mathematical foundation to apply towards creating engineering drawings and 3D models using the latest computer aided design and drafting software. Individuals with good math skills and high attention to detail typically excel in this dynamic field. Graduates of this program find employment with a wide range of employers including engineering firms, fabrication facilities and urban planning departments.
- The 1st and 2nd level courses are available on a full-time basis.
- Early admittance ensures course selection in full-load day classes.
- The 1st level courses are available both during the day and some in the evenings.
- The 2nd level courses are only available during the day.
Once you've been accepted into the Engineering Design & Drafting Technology program you can apply for Transfer Credit by completing the Transfer Credit/Credential Payment form and including Proof of Payment and submitting to Carrie Vos, Chair, Engineering Design & Drafting Technology.

Successful completion of the following courses via Open Studies with an overall minimum GPA of 2.0:
STRC1150, MATH1137 and COMM1163.

Accreditation & Industry Certification
NAIT's Engineering Design and Drafting Technology program is recognized toward certification of technologists by the Association of Science and Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET).
