About the program

Insulators apply and repair non-conductive material that reduces or eliminates the passage of heat, cold and sound. They work on plumbing, air-handling, heating, cooling and refrigeration systems, as well as piping equipment, pressure vessels, and anywhere on a building.  

Insulators plays a critical role in industrial facilities, all kinds of construction, and the energy sector. The work can be subject to business cycle swings, leading to periods of unemployment. 

This program will prepare you for a career in this rewarding and surprisingly creative field with a mix of paid on-the-job training and technical training at NAIT. On campus, you’ll learn under the guidance of our experienced and dedicated instructors in workshops carefully crafted to recreate real-world working conditions.
