About the program

Power system electricians work on high-voltage electrical transmission and distribution systems that deliver power to industries, businesses and homes. By installing, maintaining and repairing these systems they supply the power to the electrical devices that we all use every day.

Power systems electricians usually specialize in substations, where you’ll work with high-voltage equipment, or metering, where you’ll work with a variety of recording devices.

Training in both specialties is delivered by NAIT’s experienced instructors in labs carefully designed to recreate real-world working conditions.
