Refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics install, modify, repair and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning systems in all types of applications. Their work supports the cooling systems that preserve lab systems in hospitals to cold storage space in agriculture to the HVAC systems that make commercial buildings comfortable. While they usually work for companies that install and service air conditioning and refrigerators systems, you can also start your own business as a contractor.
