Discover the techniques of furniture design and construction. Practice sketching, designing, and creating furniture models while learning theoretical concepts and the visual language of design. Explore joinery, veneering, and woodturning techniques. Examine the use and application of decorative mouldings. Upon completion of this course, you will be able to design, sketch, and create a furniture model.
Prerequisite: CABM145 or CABM151
Note: Students in the Carpentry and Millwork Apprenticeship Program may be able to bypass the CABM145 or CABM151 prerequisite with approval from the program area.

Students are encouraged to bring a lunch to maximize shop time. Personal protective equipment and tools required: CSA approved steel-toed footwear , safety glasses, no loose clothing, hearing safety, measuring tape (Imperial/Metric), steel ruler and HB Pencil.
