Course Overview

Discover the fundamental theories, formulas, and practices used in the determination of construction material quantities. Extensive practice will be offered in the interpretation of technical drawings for the purpose of determining scope of work, dimensions of that work, and then calculating accurate quantities as efficiently as possible. Discussion of work procedures and common equipment utilized in the industry will also be facilitated. The skills obtained in this course will allow you to describe the duties of the quantity surveyor and their work product, in the context of a general contracting firm.

Students without significant experience in the construction industry are strongly encouraged to complete CEAC110 before registering.
