Nanosystems Engineering Technology

The Nanosystems Engineering Technology program is the only one of its kind in Canada. Through hands-on learning in our world-class labs, including in our specialized cleanroom facility, the program opens the door to a world of high-tech and unconventional career paths across various industries to solve complex problems that shape the future every day.

Emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, renewable energy, advanced battery technology, and advanced medical treatments and diagnostics are reshaping the future — and they all depend on nanotechnology. In this program, you'll master the operation of cutting-edge systems and equipment used by nanotech researchers and manufacturers, including the scanning electron microscope for capturing images of objects at the nanometre scale.

Our graduates generally work in environments similar to a chemistry or biology lab to fabricate devices that are much smaller than can be seen with the naked eye. Graduates typically work with highly advanced and specialized pieces of equipment alongside a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers with diverse backgrounds.
