The Radio and Television - Television program takes a hands-on approach to training students. Instructors provide students with optimum learning experiences through intensive training, ensuring competence of all operational aspects of electronic media. Students have the opportunity to take on job functions normally found in television stations. A professional standard of both performance and content is achieved by students in this unique learning environment.
Radio and Television - Television students learn to gather and produce television news based on current industry standards, best practices and ethics. The program includes extensive coverage of NAIT news and sports, promotion of NAIT programs and services, as well as coverage of major community, regional, national and international affairs. Students rotate through production positions, including camera operator, director, editor and news or sports anchor. Students interested in creative television production hone their skills though writing and producing commercials and public service announcements.
