As our reliance on advanced medical diagnostic and therapeutic equipment to deliver healthcare grows, so do the technology-related risks faced by both patients and clinical staff. Biomedical engineering technologists address these risks throughout the lifecycle of medical devices. This includes tasks such as specification, inspection, calibration, repair and maintenance, as well as technical troubleshooting.
The Biomedical Engineering Technology program will equip you with the fundamental knowledge and hands-on experience required for a successful career in this field. You will develop your expertise in electronics, microcontroller applications, computer network systems, and medical imaging systems. You will also gain familiarity with medical laboratory practices, anatomy, physiology and health technology management.
