About the program

The work of machinists is some of the most precise that takes place at NAIT.

They operate metal cutting and grinding machines that work to tolerances smaller than one thousandth of an inch. Machinists use this ability to make and repair parts from metal as well as plastic, rubber, fibreglass, and advanced alloys.

They are needed anywhere equipment is manufactured or repaired. In Alberta, their work makes a vital contribution to Alberta’s manufacturing sector and supports industries like energy and aerospace.

Your instruction on campus will be done by our experienced and dedicated teachers, working in labs that recreate the conditions you’ll find on the job.
