Sheet metal workers fabricate, install and maintain thin metal products and systems. They work with galvanized iron, black iron, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, and brass, as well as non-metallics like PVC and fibreglass. Their work is essential to many industries, including manufacturing, agriculture, food processing and energy.
NAIT has trained sheet metal worker apprentices since 1962. Our dedicated instructors will teach you all the essential skills in shops designed to recreate real-world working conditions.
We'll guide you through the steps to apply on Tradesecrets. Apprenticeship intakes can fill quickly, so apply early to secure your spot and get started.

At NAIT, we honour and acknowledge that the land on which we learn, work and live is Treaty Six territory. We seek to learn from history and the lessons that have come before us, and to draw on the wisdom of the First Peoples in Canada. Only through learning can we move forward in truth and reconciliation, and to a better future together. Read more
