Steel and its alloys surround you – so common they are easy to miss. We use them to build bridges and bicycles and to move electricity, oil and water. Welders create and care for many of the steel structures that support our economy and our lives. From joining metal beams that connect bridges, making the metal parts in manufacturing plants, or welding tools for oil and gas distribution.
NAIT’s experienced and dedicated welding instructors will equip you with all the skills you’ll need to start your welding career. Your classroom instructions will take place in workshops carefully designed to recreate real-world working conditions.
We'll guide you through the steps to apply on Tradesecrets. Apprenticeship intakes can fill quickly, so apply early to secure your spot and get started.

At NAIT, we honour and acknowledge that the land on which we learn, work and live is Treaty Six territory. We seek to learn from history and the lessons that have come before us, and to draw on the wisdom of the First Peoples in Canada. Only through learning can we move forward in truth and reconciliation, and to a better future together. Read more
