NAIT ranks among Alberta’s top employers for ninth year in a row

EDMONTON – The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) has been recognized as one of Alberta’s top employers for the ninth consecutive year.

The polytechnic’s focus on the well-being of its employees – both mental and physical – is one of the key reasons it was chosen again this year as an outstanding place to work.

Alberta’s Top Employers is an annual competition that this year recognizes 75 employers offering exceptional places to work. The workplaces are not ranked in any particular order. NAIT has been named a top employer each year since 2012.

The judges offered a number of reasons for selecting NAIT, including:

• Encouraging employees to keep fit, with facilities including a salt water pool, climbing wall, NHL-sized arena, indoor running track, racquetball and squash courts, personal training services and a variety of instructor-led classes
• Employing a dedicated mental health coordinator and hosting a PD day focused employee well-being
• Providing maternity leave top-up payments for new mothers and flexible work options when they are ready to return, varying by employee group
