Dan Brown appointed to NAIT’s Board of Governors

Dan Brown brings experience and insight from a diverse career in the energy sector to his recent appointment as a member of NAIT’s Board of Governors

Brown spent most of his career at Syncrude Canada Ltd. where he held various positions, wrapping up his 25-year tenure as the senior manager in the process control and automation department. He retired in 2016.  

Brown is familiar with the Alberta post-secondary sector from both a student and an industry-partner perspective. He has earned certificates from SAIT and the University of Alberta and sat on the University of Alberta Senate from 2013 to 2020 as a public member. He has also worked with NAIT graduates through his various roles with Syncrude. 

Brown’s appointment to NAIT’s Board of Governors is for 3 years. He is eligible for reappointment on or before September 28, 2024 for a second term. Public members are appointed for a maximum of 2 terms (6 years).
