5 programs receive government funding for expansion

Published on May 12, 2022

More than $9 million in new funding from the Government of Alberta will enable NAIT to increase enrolment in some high-demand programs.

Through the province’s Alberta at Work targeted enrolment expansion program funding, NAIT will have the capacity to add more than 400 seats over three years to these five programs:

These programs were identified as good candidates to put forward for the funding for several reasons, including high application pressure, alignment with government’s priority areas for growth and ability to meet the requirement of expanding enrolment starting in Fall 2022.

With the additional funding provided by the Alberta government, NAIT will be ready to expand program capacity and welcome more students into these programs beginning this fall, meaning industry will soon have access to more highly trained, employable workers with the skills needed to succeed.

Alberta at Work is a $605 million investment over the next 3 years in new and existing programs to help Albertans gain in-demand skills that will support economic growth and attract investment now and in the future. It features programs that support Albertans from primary school to post-secondary skills training, as well as retraining for changing career paths and finding well-paying jobs.
