NAIT Baking and Pastry Arts student Yin-Tzu Lan won gold in the baking competition at the 2023 Skills Canada National competition in Winnipeg, May 25 and 26.
With her gold medal appearance, Lan will go on to represent NAIT, Alberta and Canada on the national stage at the 2024 WorldSkills competition in Lyon, France.
Skills Canada competitors were assessed for their accuracy, precision, and quality of performance for their respective trades. The assessment benchmark is set to the acceptable industry standard for each trade.
A total of eight NAIT students represented the polytechnic at the annual national skills competition after winning top honors at the provincial competition in early May. Three brought home medals.
