NAIT celebrates Class of 2025 with Convocation ceremonies

Published on June 18, 2025

(Edmonton) - NAIT is proud to celebrate the achievements of the graduating Class of 2025 with the polytechnic’s annual Convocation ceremonies taking place at Edmonton Convention Centre next week. More than 4,775 graduates from NAIT’s degree, diploma and certificate programs make up the Class of 2025. These graduates are entering the workforce at a pivotal time, as Alberta and Canada continue to face a shortage of skilled trades and technology workers.

Some incredible accomplishments of the graduates include:

  • Digital Media and IT graduate Vanessa Sueppmayer, who created BabyNest, a mobile app concept designed to provide medically accurate, peer-reviewed information to expecting and new parents, along with practical tools like baby trackers and appointment reminders. Learn more
  • Construction Engineering Technology graduate Cherry Pagatalunan, who contributed to the restoration efforts in Jasper after the wildfire. Her skills, hard work, and dedication were quickly recognized, earning her a new job opportunity. Learn more
  • Industrial Heavy Equipment Technology graduate Nicholas Aubrey, an emerging leader in his field, who received the prestigious peer-nominated Golden Wrench award four separate times for his collaborative efforts with others. Learn more

“We are proud to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the NAIT Class of 2025,” says Peter Leclaire, Vice-President, Academic. “Convocation marks the beginning of a new chapter—one where graduates bring their skills, experience, and ambition into their industries and communities. With a high-quality polytechnic education and hands-on training, they are well prepared to make an immediate and lasting impact.”
