Terry Schlitter named Dean of NAIT's School of Health and Life Sciences

NAIT is pleased to announce Terry Schlitter as the new dean of the School of Health and Life Sciences (SHLS), effective Feb. 24, 2025.

A proud NAIT alumna, Schlitter (Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology '99) brings more than 24 years of leadership experience within SHLS, having served as associate dean academic, department head, and chair of Diagnostic Imaging programs.

Her extensive experience in applied health education, program leadership, and industry collaboration makes her a strong advocate for student success and academic excellence.

Schlitter holds a Bachelor of Technology in Medical Imaging from BCIT and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Fredericton. She is also actively involved in shaping health education at both the provincial and national levels, serving on the Alberta Deans of Health and Human Services Committee and the Canadian Association of Allied Health Programs board.

Additionally, she contributes to program accreditation reviews as a surveyor with Health Standards Organization, Accreditation Canada Equal.

With a deep understanding of the evolving needs of the health sector, Schlitter is committed to advancing program innovation, fostering industry partnerships, and ensuring students graduate with the skills they need to succeed in a rapidly changing health-care landscape.
