NAIT and NASA ratify new collective agreement

(Edmonton) - NAIT is pleased to announce that members of the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) and NAIT’s Board of Governors have ratified a new collective agreement, marking an important step forward for the institution and its academic staff. 

Key components

The new four-year agreement, which covers July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2028, includes several key components:

  • three per cent increase to salary each year, resulting in a 12 per cent pay increase over four years 
  • changes to better ensure balanced workloads 
  • greater clarity about who is covered by the collective agreement 
  • settlement terms aligned with broader post-secondary agreements regarding increases to health spending accounts and professional development funds 
  • benefits for temporary employees 
  • commitment to ongoing dialogue regarding intellectual property, artificial intelligence and benefits 
  • affirmation of the key role instructors play in instructional delivery, with a shared understanding of how support roles can collaborate 

NAIT extends its appreciation to both bargaining teams for their dedication and collaboration throughout the process.
