NAIT’s 2-year Dental Assisting Technology diploma program will give you the hands-on skills necessary to immediately support dentists and hygienists in their practice. From infection prevention to care procedures, dental sciences and dental practice administration, our program will prepare you to be an important member of the dental health care team.

Dental Assistants are a vital member of the dental health-care team. As a graduate, you will perform a wide variety of oral health care services and work to improve patient care. You may find employment in a number of settings, including general dentistry or specialty practices, denturist offices, dental sales or insurance, or community health care units.
Upon graduation, you are eligible to write the National Board Examination. Graduates must successfully complete this examination to register with the College of Alberta Dental Assistants to practice in Alberta and be certified in Canada.
Graduates of the Dental Assisting Technology program are also eligible for advanced credit in the NAIT Bachelor of Technology program and in the Bachelor of Health Sciences degree program at Thompson Rivers University.
