Admission decision |
This decision made by the Registrar's Office, which determines an applicant's admissibility into a program. This is based on the time and date of the application submission, the student's qualifications, the student's grades and seat availability. |
Competitive applicant |
An applicant who meets all of the program's academic and non-academic prerequisites; his/her grades are as high or higher than other applicants who have applied to the same program. |
Credit program/student |
A program that grants a diploma, degree or certificate. |
Document assessment fee |
Mandatory fee for analysis of foreign credentials to find their Alberta provincial equivalency for admission purposes. See Foreign Document Assessment Fee for more information. |
ESL program |
A non-credit program, named English as a Second Language (ESL) or English for Academic Purposes. |
Offer of Admission |
A letter that confirms your student's acceptance in a NAIT program, asking for a non-refundable & non-transferable tuition deposit payment to reserve a seat. |
Non-competitive applicant |
An applicant who meets all of the program's academic and non-academic prerequisites; however, his/her grades are not as high as other applicants who have applied to the same program. |
Qualified applicants |
An applicant who meets all of the program's academic, non-academic and competitive prerequisites. |
Seat availability |
The number of seats that are reserved for international students in a given program. Seat availability at NAIT depends on how many students have applied and if they are qualified applicants. |
LOA |
A Letter of Acceptance that confirms there is a seat reserved for the student. This letter should be used for student's study permit application. |
