Health, Safety and Environment
We strive to lead a transformative culture and to achieve health, safety and environmental excellence at NAIT through the empowerment of faculty, staff and the greater NAIT community.
Our services:
- Emergent Issues. Provide direct support and direction to emergent issues that may impact the health, safety and environment of the NAIT community.
- Environmental management. Advise on sustainability initiatives, and environmental and safety requirements for activities that may have environmental impacts related to the operation and maintenance of all owned and leased NAIT facilities, including waste management and the management of hazardous building materials.
- Hazard identification and control. Provide assistance and support during the hazard assessment process
- Hazardous Materials . Support and coordinate the maintenance of safety data sheets (SDS) and provide direction on the safe management and disposal of chemicals.
- Incident Investigations. Lead the incident reporting and investigation process and monitor the completion and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Inspections and Assessments. Support the completion of workplace health, safety and environment inspections and assessments such as indoor air quality, noise exposure and ergonomics.
- Performance Reports. Monitor the health, safety and environmental metrics and support the development of action plans to achieve goals set.
- Policies and supporting information. Collaboratively develop and support the implementation of policies and procedures to manage health, safety and the environment.
- Training. Support the development and delivery of health, safety and environmental training.
